The nature of windshifts
Article Abstract:
Eddies in the wind create an up-and-down motion that cause small windshifts and disturb the rhythm of the surface wind. These micro-windshifts and changes in wind speed may last a few seconds or minutes. These eddies are created when the surface wind collides with objects in its path.
