Crowns are semi-permanent caps that cover damaged teeth. Front teeth usually require porcelain crowns, while metal or porcelain-on-metal crowns are used with back teeth. Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. Varieties of bridgework include the Maryland fixed, the all-porcelain, and the conventional fixed.
