The use of dogs in bear hunting is supported by many people. Replies to a speech by Boyd Gibbons of the California Dept of Fish and Game suggest that banning dogs in bear hunting would just be the first step to prohibiting all forms of hunting using hounds.

A hunter describes four Canadian moose hunts. There were difficulties with the guides during the first two hunts, and even when a moose was killed the 1,400-pound carcass caused many additional difficulties as the meat had to be shipped back by train.

Whitetail deer commonly migrate from five to 55 miles from their summer ranges to their winter ranges near the end of the hunting season when snow begins. Deer hunters need to be able to predict the migration patterns.
