An adventure on the Coeur d'Alene lake located in Idaho's northern panhandle, by the author and his wife Nancy on their 25-foot Catalina, Bittersweet 2001 is described. They found that lake Coeur d'Alene is located in dramatically beautiful settings and that the hospitality and helpfulness of the local people and the fellow sailors makes it a very pleasant destination to visit.

Two seasoned sailors learned that it is better to wait out for better weather than to prioritize a deadline in sailing. They learned this valuable lesson in an ocean voyage to the south coast of Chetumal Bay in Sarteneja, Belize.
