A brief review on Steve Baker, America's first world road racing champion with reference to the start of his work, success, determination, and end of his career due to an accident is presented. At present he is a star salesman of Mt. Baker Motor Sports, the same outlet he opened in 1980 and sold to new owners three years ago and still follows national and international racing.

Eighteen motorcyclists participated in a motorcycle race sponsored by Beer Nuts at the Springfield State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. Some of the participants included Steve Morehead, Jay Springsteen, Will David, Scott Parker and Mike Hacker. Parker won the race.

Ekins is one of the top motorcyclists of the 1950s and 1960s who had the distinction of winning three different competitions. His winning career in the track paved the way for his successful motorcycle dealerships and a friendship with actor Steve McQueen.
