Champion angler, Jay Yelas who has succeeded using such skill hints that just an hour of studying a lake's basic characteristics from the shore or a boat dock would nearly always lead an angler to bass, a lot quicker.

Methods for bass fishing should be changed according to muddy water conditions, temperature shifts, and changing water levels. Bass usually come to the surface in muddy water, while decreasing temperatures cause bass to go deeper.
