The waiting game
Article Abstract:
The 101st Boston Marathon was focused on the race, unlike in 1996, when the the centennial brought crowds and hype. As in every year, the marathon attracted people from all over the world, including former Olympic champions. Details of the race and the ensuing victories of Aguta and Roba are discussed.

As South Africa starts to emerge from the isolation imposed on it by the international community so are its athletes, most of whom have not been allowed to compete in world events. Runners Elana Meyer, David Tsebe and Willie Mtolo are expected to make an impact.
