Medical students subject patients undergoing surgery at teaching hospitals in the U.S. to practice examinations while they are unconscious. The argument is made regarding this, where the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), a membership group for med schools stated that performing pelvic examinations conducted on women without prior consent is considered unethical.
