Too many ducks?
Article Abstract:
The US Fish and Wildlife Service increased the annual duck hunting season by a day in light of studies which showed an increase in duck populations. The move is expected for adversely effect duck populations in the future since the additional day gives hunters more time to shoot or maim them.

Article Abstract:
The US Fish and Wildlife Service has made anti-baiting laws impossible to observe. A bird hunter can be arrested for failing to be aware of artifically placed bait within 2,000 yards of a blind in some areas. Bulrush cutting is also illegal in some areas.

A not-so-modest proposal: if you want lots of ducks, you need sensible limits, not fussy rules
Article Abstract:
One way to improve wildlife management programs and increase duck populations is to give hunters more responsibility. Hunters should keep records of where and when they shoot ducks, and each of their bagged ducks should receive a tag.
