Tragedy on the Drives: a mysterious crash leads to a lawsuit - and threatens a venerable training ride

A bad crash on Jul 8, 1997 led to a lawsuit against Bicycle Therapy, a small shop that sponsored some of the drivers in a night training ride called the 'Drives.' The plaintiff, cyclist Alice Sherlock, claimed the shop had a liability for the actions of the entire group. The case is predicted to have adverse effects on similar training rides throughout the country.
