Transequatorial passage planning
Article Abstract:
The biggest routing challenge lay in finding the optimal point to cross the doldrums, or more formally, the intertropical convergence zone in any transequatorial voyage. The 4550-mile voyage from Canaries to Punta del Este in Uruguay are explained and their careful transequatorial passage planning is described.
