Validation of the Children's OMNI-Resistance Exercise Scale of perceived exertion
Article Abstract:
An investigation is conducted to examine concurrent validity of the Children's OMNI-Resistance Exercise Scale (OMNI-RES) of perceived exertion for 10- to 14-year old females and males performing unilateral biceps curl (BC) and knee extension (KE) isotonic exercises. The results provide concurrent validation of the Children's OMNI-RES to measure RPE for the active muscle and overall body in 10- to 14-year old females and males performing upper and lower body resistance exercise.

Observation of perceived exertion in children using the OMNI Pictorial Scale
Article Abstract:
The present investigation is to validate a direct kinematic exertional observation procedure including both concurrent and construct paradigms in separate groups of female and male children performing load-incremented treadmill exercise using the OMNI Pictorial scale. The findings support the validity of the direct kinematic observation procedure and provide perceptual exercise intensity, which can be included in standardized physical activity assessments of children.
