What are you doing on June 3? A sampler of National Trails Day happenings
Article Abstract:
National Trails Day will be observed on June 3, 1995, by over 3,000 trail groups. The American Hiking Society has set a goal of 1 million volunteer trail workers for the summer of 1995. A description of events in West Virginia, Washington, Colorado and California is presented.

Wyoming's Tongue River: after exploring the trails in Bighorn National Forest, head underground
Article Abstract:
Wyoming's Bighorn National Forest has 300 miles of hiking trails and around 80 caves. One of the most accessible is the Tongue River Cave, which can be reached via the Tongue Canyon Trail. One woman's experiences spelunking in the Tongue River Cave are recounted.

Hikers unite: National Trails Day is a step in the right direction

National Trails Day will begin Jun 5, 1993, and its purpose will be to call attention to the National Trails System Act of 1968. The American Hiking Society and 'Backpacker' are sponsoring the event, which will involve many activities around the US.
