What's the right amount of insurance coverage?
Article Abstract:
The 2 primary types of insurance coverage for boats are hull and liability. Hull coverage protects the boat and usually also protects equipment normally on board. The limit on this coverage is typically the purchase price of the boat. Liability coverage usually provides for damages for bodily injury or property damage. Limits start at $100,000 and can go up to multiple millions. It is recommended that boat owners carry the same limit as they do on homeowner and automobile liabilities.
