Article Abstract:
One singlehander finds the entire sailing wilderness he desired on the North of the U.S. border, past Thunder Bay and along Ontario's Lake Superior shoreline. The sailor describes his solo voyage into the northern arc of the world's largest freshwater lake on his 20-foot shallow-draft sloop called Persistence, and also his brief moments of fellowship with long spells of solitude.

Lake Superior's maritime preserve
Article Abstract:
The proposed Lake Superior National Marine Conservation would cover approximately 4,250 square miles. It will extend from Ontario's rugged shoreline southwards down to the United States-Canada border in Lake Superior for the sustainable use of boaters.
