Graduated driver licensing restrictions: awareness, compliance, and enforcement in North Carolina
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the extend to which critical restrictions in North Carolinas graduated driver licensing (GDL) systems are known, adhered to and enforced. Teenagers and their parents were recruited as they applied for license at one of 23 licensing offices. As a result, the awareness of North Carolinas night and passenger restrictions was very high among both parents and teenagers, who earlier had no idea about police enforcement of GDL restrictions.
