Shuttle tanker starts multi-purpose role
Article Abstract:
Statoil forged a joint venture agreement with Rasmussen for the creation of a highly-sophisticated, multi-purpose shuttle tanker which would serve the UK, Norway and North Sea coasts. Dubbed as Navion Brittannia, this 126,650 dwt vessel is equipped with twin-low speed diesel engines designed specifically for offshore loading. The tanker further features dynamic positioning capabilities that allow operators to conduct loading and production operations efficiently.
