As a result, ship prices are falling to artificially low levels. The expansion trend in the cruise sector has come to an end.

Cruise ships use a full displacement type hull form, which can operate at speeds corresponding to Froude Numbers below 0,35. The two routes followed for designing the cruise ships in future are discussed, it is stated that the width of the Panama canal is affecting the cruise ship design for many years.
