Visibility and training are keys to bringing about procurement reform
Article Abstract:
American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Procurement Task Force, that consists of more than a dozen officials from transit properties and business member representatives have suggested some guidelines in order to improve the procurement processes in the transit industries by prioritizing in certain areas like training for the personnel of transit industry in association with National Transit Institute (NTI) and increased transparency in the APTA's Procurement Task Force activities. The various activities performed by American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Procurement Task Force along with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) have been described.
