The foodservice industry is expected to benefit from the use of Efficient Foodservice Response (EFR). The innovative scheme will result in increased efficiency, lower costs and fresher foods in the industry which has been plagued by rising costs, diminishing profits, lower volumes and increasd competition from grocery stores and convenience stores. The EFR systen will allow all three partners in the supply chain to communicate electronically.

The sale of potato dishes in fine dining has increased by 12% with the customers ordering more potato and the chefs are offering exotic and traditional potato dishes. The French fries sales have seen a drop of 6% due to health conscious customers turning away from it for its high fat and carbohydrate content.
