Beating Mersey blues
Article Abstract:
The cultural side of the area of Liverpool, UK is being marketed to present a more positive impression by marketing company The Merseyside Partnership, after research found few people were aware of the benefits Merseyside has to offer in the way of museums, art galleries and beaches. Liverpool and its people are often portrayed in a bad light, both in the press and on television. The 50,000 pounds sterling Merseyside campaign is expected to increase the number of visitors to Liverpool by up to 10% by March 2000, with the majority of exposure coming from poster advertisements.
