Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts ranks No. 1 in the list, with $2,119.4 million in 1997 revenue; followed by McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Ltd., with $1,816.9 million in 1997 revenue; while Cara Operations Ltd. is No. 3, with $1,194 million in 1997 revenue. The list also includes rankings in 1996; revenue in 1996; number of units; and percentage of change.

A list of the the top 75 independent Canadian restaurants, which includes fine dining, casual restaurants and pubs, is provided. The establisments were ranked according to their actual sales volume, and Montreal-based Restaurant Nuances is at the top of the list with C$42.1 million.
