Dining out, dining in
Article Abstract:
An increasing number of time-strapped, busy men and women are opting to buy tasty, healthy and convenient ready-made dinners at groceries on their way home from work. As a result, groceries across Canada are improving their home meal replacement (HMR) offerings and selling these products at prices way below restaurant charges. Many independent grocery operators are even transforming HMR products into an art form. Restaurateurs would be wise to examine what local grocery retailers are offering and respond appropriately.

Fair game
Article Abstract:
An increasing number of Canadian restaurants are offering variety of exotic meats and game on their menus in an effort to differentiate their cuisine from that of the competition. These meats include caribou, elk, muskox, emu, ostrich, alligator and tinamou. Most restaurant patrons want to order something that they do not cook at home. Game meat is therefore ideal for enhancing the dining experience while satisfying the increasingly adventurous spirit of Canadian restaurant goers.
