Several olive oil varieties from different regions are increasingly being used by well-known Toronto chefs for traditional meals. These include aromatic Spanish oil, Greek oil, the fragrant oil of Provence and Tunisian oil. Consumers concerned with high quality for imported product varieties can turn to extra-virgin oil, refined olive oil and a combination that blends extra-virgin olive oil and canola oil.

Apprehensions were ripe in the Canadian beef industry, when a reported mad cow disease led to the suspending of exports of Canadian beef. But the Canadians allayed these fears as they ate domestic beef like never before.
