Gambling for all
Article Abstract:
UK local authorities are allowing the inclusion of amusement facilities in many leisure complexes, aimed primarily at families and young people. The amusement industry has joined together with police, local authorities and education departments to ensure that premises are run correctly and operations are monitored in accordance with local authority demands. Research suggests that young people cannot be harmed or encouraged towards anti-social behaviour by playing on amusements in arcades. Guidelines prevent access to arcades for school-aged children during school hours.
