Archer Leisures has recently been sold to Vardon, and chairman of Vardon, David Hudd, believes that Archer has unique exposure to both the public and private sectors. Archer's founder and managing director Harm Tegelaars sees the goals of the company as quality of service and value for money.

Class cycling or 'Spinning' originated from a South African endurance cycling fanatic who linked with Schwinn, an equipment manufacture to mass produce the bikes and develope the craze. The concept has become popular in the US fitness market, but is taking longer to gain popularity in the UK. New high profile competitors are entering the market branding their own versions of group cycling.
