Article Abstract:
The first leisure industry feasibility study was undertaken by Harrison Price, who is now regarded as the creator of the discipline of leisure economics. His first project was Disneyland, and he then went on to form Economic Research Associates. He has worked on schemes including Walt Disney World, World's Fairs, Tokyo Disneyland and Six Flags theme parks. He has now moved away from Economic Research Associates, and has formed Harrison Price Co, which undertakes only a small number of projects every year.

Article Abstract:
Special effects are being used more and more in leisure attractions, although they cannot replace a clever story or experience at an entertainment venue. In the motion picture industry, major releases rely heavily on high end special effects which are becoming even more realistic. Safe long wave ultra-violet (UV) lighting technology is being developed for entertainments, and UV special effects can be used to transform enviornments.

Motion pictures
Article Abstract:
Motion simulator rides generally last for five minutes. The films have the same viewpoint for camera and riders alike, and as yet the film cannot be edited without detracting from the experience. The simulator industry is still in its infancy, and current developments include partnerships between companies such as Midland and IMAX Ridefilm. The motion simulator ride industry is discussed further.
