Besides the cities in Japan, the small quite towns, walking trails, old wooden farmhouses, stones shrines, rustic waterwheels, colourful clumps of bamboo, houses decorated with antique Japanese pottery make the trail between the centuries-old villages of Magome and Tsugamo in Central Honshu's Kiso Valley, worthwhile.
