'Liveable communities,' is to do with environment management, providing nice places for people to live. It is an initiative supported by the Improvement and Development Agency (I&DeA), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and mainly backed by the office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). The International Awards for Liveable Communities is the world's only competition, which focuses on environment management.

The Derby Country football club's Pride Park stadium is assessed for its arrangements for the convenience of the disabled fans. The facility has seating on elevated platforms and offers golf buggy ride for the disabled fans from the car park to the grounds.
