No job too small

Article Abstract:

The UK's Tourism and Leisure Consortium is launching a campaign to persuade more small- and medium-sized companies in the leisure industry to give staff more access to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). The UK leisure industry is dominated by small companies, which account for over 75% of business, and investing in NVQs should be given a high priority as it is beneficial to both employees and companies.

Gaining access

Article Abstract:

Training people in disability awareness can change attitudes. The disabled are stereotyped and training can help staff give a service which will enhance rather than create difficulties. If the trainers themselves are disabled their insight is most productive. They are able to promote positive images which dispel the idea that being disabled is a tragedy.
