The UK theme park industry is seeking to raise standards of training by introducing a range of nationally recognized qualifications. Thrill ride operators will be able to obtain a Mechanical Ride Operation qualification which covers competence in health and safety matters relating to the leisure industry. The introduction of qualifications is expected to help reduce staff turnover and raise standards regarding safety.
