Steven Schussler: Rainforest Cafe, one of the hottest concepts around is coming to London

Six Rainforest Cafe restaurants have opened in the US since 1994 and an outlet is to open in the Trocadero in London. The concept was developed by Steven Schussler and he has linked with Glendola Leisure in London, part of The Foundation Group. The concept was first backed by Lyle Berman, chair of Grand Casinos, and he is currently chair and CEO or the organisation, with Schussler having control over development and marketing. The retail characters arising from the Rainforest are part of a merchandise operation covering up to 5,000 sq ft.

Simon Woodroffe's innovative restaurant Yo! Sushi is designed to offer customers a glimpse of modern Japan. It seats diners near to a conveyor belt carrying food and employs 'sushi robots' at the food counter. An innovative robotic trolley tours the restaurant with drinks for customers. The menu is varied and designed to alter throughout the day. Woodroffe plans to expand Yo! Sushi outlets in Britain, America and Europe.
