Alfonso Giannuzzi, 48-years-old, studied law in Italy and went on to gain a diploma in hotel management in Switzerland. In 1974 Giannuzzi joined Forte and has since managed hotels in London and the Bahamas. Giannuzzi was managing director of Agip Forte International until the beginning of 1996, when he became Granada group's International Hotels managing director when Forte was taken over. Giannuzzi enjoys a challenge and is aware of emerging markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Radisson SAS ready to take on Eastern Europe

Article Abstract:

Radisson SAS Hotels Pres. Kurt Ritter says the chain has been growing rapidly since 1994 when Swedish hotel chain SAS and US Hoteliers Radisson signed a marketing agreement. During 1995 it opened a hotel on average every 11 days and now aims to have a total of 100 hotels by 1998. Ritter feels that growth will be achieved by taking over independent hotels with Eastern Europe as a particular target. A new $62 million hotel is also planned for Manchester, England.

Century is moving into India thanks to tie-up

Article Abstract:

Century international Hotels of Hong Kong and Mahindra Group of Bombay, India, have signed a deal via which the former will manage the latter's Guestline hotel chain. Mahindra will be known as Guestline Century and the deal also includes four hotels under development. The new venture has also acquired a number of land sites including a beach resort near Bombay. The Guestline chain currently features three hotels in Bangalore, Tirupati, and Bombay.
