Speaking out on licensing reforms

The British government has outlined its plans for licensing reform and has given operators six-months in which they coordinate with all local authorities to obtain necessary permissions before starting any new venture. Councilors and legal luminaries came together on November 19, 2003 to discuss this matter and roundly ticked off the government's decision saying that six-months was too short a time to get things moving in a bureaucratic set-up.

Leisure Industry Week (September 21-23, 2004) is introducing a new Disability Inclusion Section (DIS) this year under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) as required by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC). This will help disabled people use the services of leisure providers without any inconvenience being caused to them.
