Tourism impacts related to EC 92: a look ahead
Article Abstract:
The unification of 12 European countries to form a United States of Europe in January 1993 will alter the situation for the tourism industry. Effects on the airline industry will be felt not only in Europe but worldwide. The hotel industry also stands to benefit from this development. Other industries that stand to gain from the unification are food service, car rental and tour operator sectors. Inspite of all these inherent advantages, governments should still undertake adequate planning measures to ensure a positive growth trend.
