Take a seat
Article Abstract:
Safety, durability and cost should be considered in leisure industry seating. Terrace decking is the cheapest, most longlasting and versatile. Individual seating may have fixed or tipping seats, be freestanding or linked and with or without back support. Various mountings are possible. British Standard (BS)4875 governs strength and stability although stadia seating has special requirements. The Furniture Industry Research Association aims to establish a standard for linked seating. BS 7176 guides on flammability.
