The spatial configuration of travel to Yellowstone National Park
Article Abstract:
The spatial configurations of trips to Yellowstone National Park and their corresponding socioeconomic attributes were determined through questionnaires administered to 600 Canyon Lodge guests. Aside from answering relevant inquiries, respondents were asked to sketch their trips' routes on prepared maps. Results indicate four travel patterns, namely: Direct Route, Partial Orbit, Full Orbit and Fly/Drive. Geographically, the study found that visitor number from each state was proportional to state population size and inversely proportional to distance from the park. Moreover, visitors were found to come mainly from highly educated, middle income sectors.

Time series analyses of UK outbound travel by air
Article Abstract:
A study is carried out in which time series models are applied to outbound travel flows by air from the United Kingdom to 20 destinations. A selection strategy is presented to differentiate between the difference filters applicable to additive and multiplicative ARIMA models and this structured approach identified models that are best or close to best in terms of their goodness of fit for 14 of the 20 destinations and avoids arbitrary decisions about difference filters.
