Overwaitea Food Group of Langley, British Columbia, has opened Urban Fare in Aug 1999, to provide busy individuals with an alternative to conventional TV dinners. The supermarket, a departure from the company's traditional stores, offer over 130 home meal replacement products. Urban Fare, whose advertising slogan is 'Are we are grocery store with bus boys or a restaurant with bag boys?,' is a store that combines the features of a grocery with a foodservice establishment.

Maple restaurant, which opened in Oct 1999 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, offers patrons an all-Canadian dining experience that centers on the country's culture and cuisine. The restaurant is housed on a 2,500-sq- ft building that features five dining levels with a seating capacity of 80 including a 40-seat private dining room and fuction space. A sample of Maple's menu may include appetizers with prices from C$8-C$20, entrees from C$25-C$30 and desserts from C$8-C$9.
