Sault Ste. Marie is a city of 82,000 people in Ontario, Canada. Established by French missionaries in 1668, the city houses the Soo Locks, which form part of the 2,000-mile long Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway. The city's long and colorful past is evident in its numerous historical sites and museums.
