Combination guns are a relatively recent development in American firearms, as the concept was imported from Europe after the First World War. The history and design of several famous American combination guns and their manufacturers are presented.

Military rifle to shotgun conversions
Article Abstract:
A number of muskets used in military campaigns were subsequently converted into shotguns as soldiers turned to farmers after the war. Much of these conversion occurred during the 1880's.
