The city of London, England experiences cultural setbacks as some of its popular cultural institutions undergo operation-related difficulties. Old Vic, one of the city's popular theater company, is expected to be shutdown in December 1997 due to its owners' plan to sell its property.

Europe's city-center airports are suitable for business travelers because they are time-efficient and not crowded with vacationers. In London City, for example, bags may be obtained in ten minutes. They also use airplanes which can take-off and land on short runways.

The undergoing liberalization of the European airline industry is raising issues about air safety. Two major issues concern the ability of government agencies to regulate the new airlines, and the potential impact to safety of the new airlines' cost-cutting.
