Polovchak stirred up animosities between the US and the former USSR when he defected at the age of 12 in 1980. His family sued the US government for his return, but the process went on until he turned 18. Polovchak now lives happily, working as a supervisor for a manufacturing company.

Rayner shine

Rayner was best known for his childrens' program 'Ray Rayner and Friends,' which ran seven mornings a week from 1962 to 1980. He and his wife moved in 1980 to the warmer climate of Albuquerque, NM, where he worked for a local CBS affiliate station.
