Coping with travel risks: how to weight - and avoid - the dangers

Overseas travel can be hindered by more than political risk factors. Highway accidents are second only to illness as a major cause of death for Americans traveling abroad. Other factors include crime. Colombia, Brazil and Mexico are among countries in which crime is a risk. Travelers are advised to avoid attention-getting behavior, display of jewelry, traveling alone,and routine behavior, such as jogging at the same time everyday in a foreign location.
