Fewer than 3,000 Komodo dragons, the world's largest lizard, remain in the wild. Virtually all of them are on Indonesia's Komodo Island and three other smaller nearby islands. A trip to this still undeveloped part of Indonesia where efforts are being made to save the nine-foot lizard is described.

Sheep dogs are still very important to sheep ranchers in Scotland, where more mechanized ways of ranching are eschewed. Each year there are sheep dog competitions in Scotland, where the dogs judged to do their jobs the best represent Scotland in the International Sheep Dog Trials.

Sweethearts of the rodeo

Fort Worth, TX, is considered the women's rodeo capital of the US, as it hosts the Professional Women's Rodeo Association National Finals each year and is the location of the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame. How the sport has developed in the area is described.
