Alaska Gov Walter Hickel ordered state flags to fly at half mast to honor Heinmiller, who died June 10, 1992, at 79. Heinmiller was a World War II veteran who founded the Port Chilkoot Co and helped establish the City of Port Chilkoot after the war.
