Article Abstract:
A Conde Nast Traveler survey of air pilots found that 45% think flying is safer in 1993 than it was in 1983. However, 38% say they have been in at least one situation where an accident could have happened. The pilots rated the National Airport in Washington D.C. as the most difficult to land in.

Article Abstract:
The increase of passenger survival rates in airplane crashes between 1981 and 1990 is encouraging but more safety practices can help. Passengers can memorize the number of seats between exits and their own. Young children should use restraint seats. The FAA tests should be more realistic.

Is your laptop scaring the pilot?
Article Abstract:
Some airline pilots are complaining that laptop computers and other electronic devices are interfering with navigational instruments. The Federal Aviation Administration says there is no evidence that this is happening. However, some airlines have banned laptops from flights.
