Panama jungle saved from pavers
Article Abstract:
The governments of Panama and Colombia have suspended the construction of a superhighway that will traverse the Darien jungle, to preserve the area's fragile ecosystem. A compromise was reached to build the road at the fringes of the jungle, to complete the Pan-American Highway.

The San Blas islands at the edge of the Caribbean Sea are home to the Kuna Indians of Panama. Consisting of at least 350 islands, the area has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The Kuna Indians have fought hard to retain control of their ancestral land.
