Article Abstract:
Patricia McGuire returned to the Northeast DC's Trinity College, the first liberal arts college, as its president, fifteen years after graduating from the same and worked to transform it completely when the campus and reputation, both needed to be rebuilt. The college serves mainly minority women who would otherwise not be in position to avail higher education, while the weekend college and programs associated with educational and business communities provide opportunities to students with limited money and time.

Linda Cropp chaired the District of Columbia Council when the city was tackling issues like unbalanced budgets, junk bonds and the financial control board, and has changed the city for the better. She uses her old skills of a teacher and guidance counselor to move ahead in her work and considers herself open to compromise and agreements rather than campaigning as she feels until one has enough support one cannot move ahead.
