Favors are typical among Chicago's elite as a way to get ahead, spread influence, and simply do good. Rules for trading favors are discussed. They include a favor should not be granted with expectations of getting one in return, personal and professional favors are interchangeable, favors are often better than money, a favor should be offered before it is requested, and favors should not be abused.
