The park service of Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains National Park closes Cades Cove Loop Road to vehicles two mornings each week. This gives visitors a chance to tour the 11-mile loop that offers a glimpse of 19th-century living through 30 original structures that were built by colonial settlers.
